StillHere ("we," "us," or "our") built the StillHere: Keep in Touch app (the "App") to help families and friends stay connected through simple daily hellos. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
We believe in being straightforward. We only collect what we need to make the App work, and we never sell your personal information to anyone.
Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information — your name and email address when you sign up (via Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In, or email/password).
- Daily hello data — timestamps of your daily hellos.
- Circle information — the connections you create between yourself and your watchers (family and friends).
Information collected automatically
- Push notification tokens — a device identifier used solely to send reminders and gentle nudges to your circle if you miss a daily hello.
- Timezone — so we can schedule your daily hello window at the right local time.
- Last app open timestamp — to determine whether watchers have the app installed and active (used for watcher health indicators).
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate the daily hello and notification system.
- Send push notifications — reminders to say hello and nudges to watchers when a daily hello is missed.
- Show watcher health status so owners can see who is likely to receive nudges.
- Manage your subscription.
- Provide customer support.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the App's core functionality.
Third-Party Services
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate the App:
- Supabase — hosts our database and handles authentication. Your account data and hello history are stored on Supabase's servers.
- RevenueCat — manages subscriptions and in-app purchases. RevenueCat receives transaction data from Apple and Google but does not receive your hello data.
- Expo Push Notifications — delivers push notifications to your device. Expo receives your push token and notification content.
- Apple & Google Sign-In — if you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, we receive only your name and email address (and Apple's Hide My Email address, if you choose that option).
Each of these services has their own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on Supabase's cloud infrastructure. We use row-level security policies so that you can only access your own data. All connections are encrypted in transit using TLS.
While we work hard to protect your information, no system is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.
Data Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Some anonymized, aggregated data (like total daily hello counts) may be retained for analytics.
Your Rights and Choices
You can:
- Access or update your profile information at any time in the App's settings.
- Disable push notifications through your device settings (though this will affect the core functionality of the App).
- Delete your account and all associated data by emailing us at hello@joinstillhere.com or visiting our account deletion page.
- Request a copy of your data by emailing us.
For California Residents (CCPA)
If you're a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion, and opt out of its sale. We do not sell your personal information. To exercise your rights, email us at hello@joinstillhere.com.
For European Residents (GDPR)
If you're in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to restrict or object to certain processing. Our legal basis for processing your data is the performance of our contract with you (the Terms of Service) and your consent for push notifications. Children's Privacy
StillHere is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us so we can promptly delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the App or by email. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
